Driving to pick up Alan one evening I passed a strange yet familiar scene. It was like a memory from my Childhood popping out of the snow to make me smile. I'm assuming some college aged fans of Bill Watterson decided to give everyone a blast from their childhood's comic reading past. Very unlike me, I unfortunately did not have my camera on hand. Sooooo I thought I would give you a glimpse of some other artists and their Calvin inspired works as well as the comics to go along. This Is the one I saw: (Only at BYU-I).

Okay sooooooooooooo I am officially the WORST blogger EVER. This means that I unfortunately am going to have to give you the "Reader's digest" version of our experience in Georgia.

First I'll start with the Zoo because -no joke-we haveTHOUSANDS of zoo pictures! AH!)

But before I post any paraphernalia, I have a confession to make.

I. Am. OBSESSED With. Otters.

I have been this way ever since I can remember. Even my stuffed animal I carried around as a kid was an otter. Can I just tell you all how much I have loved having Alan work at the zoo! I was lucky enough to be able to in the back holding area with the animal I adore most!!!!!!!!!!!! EEEE! (Granted I wasn't lucky enough to touch any of these critter and quite honestly I don't think I'd want to. They're known for their "tooth". But I did get within biting range!!!!)

Also I would like to take a moment to boast. These are very very very active creatures. They do not sit still at all. Especially when they are in the water. So hooray me for actually getting these shots! (granted it took 4+ trips to the zoo, probably around 100 picture takes, and a cramped arm but who cares!!! YAY!!!! :-D )

They feel that it is their personal calling to make sure all humans are feed.

Be it with chunks of wood, rats, or good ole' fashioned air, the humans must eat!

And lastly (sort of) this is one of my favorite new things at the zoo.

These are the endangered Golden Tamarins. No, they didn't escape.

They are very territorial primates and their parents mark the areas the children are allowed to go.

Thats why they only go along the rope and around the little island across from their exhibit.

Kristen's surprise!

This is my old roomie and dear friend with her husband, Jon.
The story goes like this:

When we were roommates, Kristen had some interesting symptoms. Things like itchy legs, sore back, and some G.I. issues. I'd wake up in the middle of the night b/c she'd be scratching her legs in her sleep to the point of making them bleed. There were several things they tried to diagnosed her with in those two semesters , but none of the treatments were working. Long story short, she met a wonderful young man and got married. Not long after that the doctors found out that she had non hodgkins lymphoma. A cancer that affects the blood. In time she was treated successfully but as always, when concerning chemotherapy, there is a good chance of not being able to have babies.

WRONG!

Guess who's pregnant with not just one baby, BUT TWO!!!

Please keep them in your prayers.

This might be a very difficult pregnancy so every prayer would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats Kristen and Jon! We love you!

WE'RE BACK!!!

It's official, we are back in Georgia and lovin' it!

*Make sure to see the TWO post after this one...they're brand new too!*

It was quite a trip getting here though...

It was decided that we would DRIVE across the country. (crazy thing to do, i tell you)

acking and having a limited number of clothes I could take was, to say the least, super hard.

Luckily we had some AMAZING friends to help us though... *CHRISTY---YOU ROCK!!! :-D
We somehow managed to cram all of our clothes in the car

>and when I say our clothes I mean, mostly mine (blush)<

If you really know me then you know that I have ALOT of clothes.

When that was done, we remembered that we had SIX little critters and their cages to deal with.
Well we somehow managed and set off waving goodbye to our sweet little trailer of a home and praying that we'd survive in the cramped car. (haha!) We drove through TONS of rainstorms which we thought, unlike most would think, they were a gift from heaven! You see, we didn't have air conditioning at the time. So, like dogs with the window rolled down, we would cool off by sticking our heads and feet out the windows. My biggest complaint about this grandious country is the FACT that the scenery is THE SAME the whole way through Wyoming and Kansas. (I gained the priveledge of driving through these 2 exciting states) Talk about boring and brownish yellow. But fortunately I survived. My prize-The GEORGIA GREEN!

Being back has been wonderful! I was able to see my wonderful aunt and cousins, whom I think it had been a whole year or two since I'd last seen them! And it was naturally excited to see my parents and all my friends! I'd missed them SO much!
We're staying with my grandparents and its tons of fun! (not to metion I'm able to glean from grandma's house keeping magic and have access to the Harry Potter series on CD.) *yay grandparents!*
We celebrated Ms. Nikki D'Acchioli's birthday with a whole in one...well more like a whole in several more than one, but we'll just subtract the "several more than" part.
Yes. Nikki and I cheat at miniature golf.
Whereas, Alan takes this sport to be NO LAUGHING MATTER. As most people know, It is a very serious game.
After 4 or 5 holes of us girls kicking/placing our golf balls into the hole, Alan tossed the score card with a smile.

Alan is interning at ZOO ATLANTA and loves it! Quite frankly, I'm a little jealous he gets to play with animals all day and teach people about them but he really is outstanding at it!!! I'm so proud of him! I love getting to hear about his daily adventures and the inside scoop of what happens at the zoo I grew up hoping to work at myself. I was able to tag along with him one day and found that I had a hidden love for giraffe's (I probably inherited it from my Aunt Stephanie).

I am currently taking an online course for studying to become an Orthodontic Assistant. It's EXTREMELY FACINATING to me and lots of fun even though its time consuming and makes my brain/hand hurt from taking notes. Just yesterday I had a job interview for a position at PETSMART!!! It would be super fun so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Welp everybody, I better go... but I hope this lengthy post will suffice. Hopefully, since I was appreciatively reminded I have a blog (thank you Lorie!) I will be much better at updating!

General Conference Weekend!

Well, its has officially been FOREVER since I last updated! Sorry about that folks!
This weekend we scurried down to good ole' Orem, utah and attended Alan's first Mission reunion. Unfortunately it was lacking several of his old companions but it has been 3 years since his mission. Lucky for us we found out that several of the people he did know had made their way over to Denny's for a late night snack. It was tons of fun to listen in on all their adventures during their missions! Then we drove back up to S.L. to get a little R n' R before waking up to go to the Saturday morning session of the 179th General Conference! This was another first that I got to share with Alan! We were fortunate to get tickets from his cousin Brittany and to tell the truth, the seats weren't terrible either! Not to metion Brittany brought along her little sister, Brooklyn! (Alan and I have an "arguement" as to which one of us is Brooklyn's Favorite! :-D )

As always, it was a WONDERFUL treat to listen to and be enlightened by our church leaders!

After the session we quickly did a stop by a pet shop to pick up a new pet for a friend of ours, Andy Thompson. (he was a former intern at Arthur Murray with me) He'd been searching for a red-eyed tree frog! So now he is the proud owner of a FIFTY DOLLAR, yes thats right, $50 buck red-eyed tree frog! At least the little fella is photogenic!

Sorta Family Tradition #1: vistit pet shop in between conference sessions- CHECK!Unfortunately this cut into our time to accomplish the main family tradition I wanted to make sure was upheld: Pizza for lunch...but fortune smiled upon me because of my wonderful husband who made a quick pizza run for me!!!!! YAY!

We spent the evening with friends and family in Salt Lake and Provo (as well as rescuing Lost Laptops) before attempting to head back up to Rexburg but unfortunately our car thought we'd do otherwise. The car had a mini surgery but now is back up and "kickin' " with a brand new Alternator! As always, quite the adventure!

Other than that we've just been playing with the ferrets at home, studying for Alan's finals, and teaching our primary class/middle school dance classes!

Look who we're babysitting through next semester!

His name is Dozer (as in Bulldozer). He is a HAM! not to mention a very very very cute ferret!

All is well here. Dozer keeps me on my toes but things are truely beginning to look up. Hopefully I'l be getting a job as a dance instructor at one of the middle schools here. Alan is enjoying his classes and has a group he attends called Writer's Workshop. HE LOVES it! They all come and share the stories that they work on and get feedback from one another. Its great. Welp we love you all and hope all is well where ever you may be.

This past weekend we drove up to Idaho to visit our dear friend Kristen Linford. Along the way we stopped by to see Allison Anne and the Cheneys while they were visiting the May Family! As well as Brent and Anne Beardsley! How FUN and refreshing to see familiar Faces! And We also experienced a wild fire in southern utah (Click on picture to see the flames). On the way back we drove down the Las Vegas strip (it was my first time!) and went Country hopping while we were there-We got an Eye full of the Eiffel, Gave some winks to the Sphinx, and Stared at the Statue of Liberty...Over all it was a great weekend!

Here we are in California on our internship. We were thinking, "We need a friend!" So we started brainstorming ideas for pets...we didn't want something too extremely difficult to take care of. Soooooo I suggested we get a leopard gecko!!! (I've wanted one my entire life!) Alan loves reptiles in general so naturally he loved the idea but he wanted to buy TWO! We shopped around and decided on some babies at Petsmart and picked out "room furniture" and "wallpaper" and pretty much spoiled them on the first day...(Alan STILL spoils them!) Alright ladies and gentlemen, the highly anticipated moment has arrived! Here they are: MEW and CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Georgia here. Just for an FYI (in case some of you didn't know) I have an EXTREME passion for Horseback riding. Its a sort of Therapy for me. If ever I'm starting to have a rough time in life, I know that Its time for a horseback ride. Recently, it was about that time. Lucky for me Alan's Family Home Evening group decided to go visit one of their Church leader's home and ride horses. It was an opporitunity i couldn't pass. Sooooo Alan was fabulous and took some videos.

Yesterday around 7:30 pm
Alan- "I have practice in a few minutes..."
his thoughts: I'll leave practice early to set things up...
Georgia- "Take me with you! *Pouts*"
her thoughts: must stay as close as possible to Alan. I love him! YAY!
Alan- "Okay." (with a smile)
his thoughts: Grr. She foiled my plan!
They go to practice... after he'd done practicing:
Georgia-" Lets work on Cabaret lifts! :-D
Alan- (randomly burst out) "We need to go!"
Georgia- "Why?!" >>>she's confused.
Alan- "Grocery Store?"
Georgia- "Nah. Lets go tomorrow! We need to practice."
Alan- "Hungry-need food"
Georgia- "food later"
Alan- commanding voice "We're leaving."
Georgia- (surprised because this a rare occasion) "Yes sir."
We go to his place ...Alan goes in his room, asks me to boil some water, and turns on music (these are little things called distractions...) He does this so he can call Chelsey and ask her to distract me. He is also changing into khakis and a LIME GREEN HAWAIIAN SHIRT. (I love that part of the story)

Chelsey calls me at 9:22pm and tells me to come look at pictures she took over the weekend. I proceed to be slightly confused because I have no idea what in the world is going on and why everyone is acting funny. We'd had plans to play (Alan and I) so i didn't know what to tell Chelsey---so I hand the phone over to Alan (little did i know HE was the reason she called!) I asked Alan if he wanted to come with me to look at her pictures...
Alan- "you go because I have to go get my car phone charger from Commodore. I'll meet up with you afterwards."
I take my time before leaving his place because i was kinda being clingy and didn't want to leave him. I finally do and Chelsey and i look at pictures for a good 20 minutes. Thats about when Alan walks in.
Georgia- "what took you so long?! I missed you" *batts her eyes*
Alan- "Commodore was showing me funny videos on youtube.com"
Georgia- "Haha! I wanna see! Show me Show me!" (Completely clueless)
Alan- "Nope. We only have a few minutes to get pizza before it closes."
Once in possesion of our pizza:
Georgia- "so now what are we gonna do?"
Alan- "eat pizza at Porter Park."
(the same place my dad proposed to my mom)
So we ate and talked and made friends with other people there. Since we'd come to this particular park I started feeling suspicious so I sneakily checked his pockets>>>NO RING! :-(
I was bummed but at least i was having fun spending quality time with Alan. We walked around for a good hour laughing and looking at the stars. We also naturally had to play on the playground. (of course!)

Anyway, I suggested that we lay on the grass and search for Orion-my favorite constillation. Little did I know that I was playing right into his plans. The ground was wet so Alan offered to use his towel he keeps in the drivers seat of his car. This should have been a major clue because he's usually picky about getting it dirty) So we layed there and talked about the stars.

Alan continued to point out how some of the stars looked stuck in the trees. I'd never thought of that before. How cool! Anyhow, Alan checked the time. 11:08 pm. We got up and walked around, looking at more stars. I assumed we were about to go home because it was getting late. Suddenly Alan points at a tree:
Alan- "LOOK! There's another star in that tree. I bet i could get that one!"

Georgia- "Whatever you want." (loving every typical Alan dorky comment he makes)

Alan proceeds to climb the tree as I roll my eyes at his adorableness! So I decide to play along.

Georgia- "reach a little higher...Right there! Thats perfect!" (still completely clueless)

Out of nowhere Alan jumps for it and grabs the star while FALLING OUT OF THE TREE! A good 7 feet drop. Of course I freak out. He's kneeling down holding his ankle while I'm running over there to see if he's alright. In my mind I promise myself that if he's hurt I'm gonna kill 'em! (haha) As I start to bend down to check things out for myself he looks up at me with this Dorky grin. I thought, "You're crazy! You just fell out of a tree and you're happy about it?!?!"

At that moment his smile brightens and eyes sparkle as he whispers,
"I got it."

This is the moment I suddenly start feeling faint and out of breath...I close my eyes.

He holds up the ring and says,
"Jessica Anne Wallace, Will You Marry Me?"

I finally open my tearful eyes and look deep into his as I Dizzily breath out that one word, "Yes."

Being the strange person I am, I found this a good moment to ask what time it was.

He pulled ou this phone and said it was 11:11. (Nov. 11th is his birthday)

On the drive home I decided to ask.

Georgia-"So since it was 11:11 did you make a wish?"

Alan- Yes"

Georgia- "What was your wish?"

Alan- "That was it...a yes."

Hmmmmmmmmmm. . . . . . . . . . I Love Him.
And now I will be able to love him for Time and All Eternity.

Gentle reflections of new reasons and past joys
as if smiling back at me on the taunting waves.
Memories change to musical notes in rythm with the ocean
Pulling me along, inviting to sway with music my heart craves.

Each melodious strain drawing my being
To walk above the lyrical liquid haze of chance.
Faith stiring my soul to soar beyond the unknown
Throught a place where a traquil symophony turns my life in dance.

New emotions spread wings of hope beside the whispering wind.
Gliding alone-not knowing which direction to take
Afraid and unsure, slipping in to the sea
Tears blend with the spray, blurring a shadow in the wake.

Floating far into the depth of dashed dreams
Grasping for the fading stanzas is all I can do.
Wishes blacken in the darkness as I am consumed.
Engulfed in the deep-hopes are few.

A touch of the hand holding onto spared dreams
a silhouette intertwines in that precious lyrical phrase.
Stretching toward the moonlit sky of safety
Closed in an embrace of gratitude and praise.

Eyes turned down, not knowing quite how to start
My heart beats in time as my hero tenderly raises our chins.
His eyes playful as the shimmering sea
He takes me in his arms and the music begins...

Dorks and Divas 2

The first time the Dorks and Divas group started was Fall Semester last year except this time Ms. Georgia got to join in! YAY! There were actually a whole bunch of former ballroom dance interns that did it too: Autumn, Kami, Tad, Kara, Georgia, Alan...and several other dancing friends. What a Blast!!!

Okay folks! How are ya? Well this past weekend we traveled down to good ole Utah to visit Alan's family! Great FUN!!! So much fun that we regretably forgot to take pictures with them... :-( We did take a few pictures on our way home though! :-D

Once upon a time in the frozen land of Rexburgia, there lived two people who were always cold. The times were difficult and windy! Whatever could they do? Where could they escape from the blustering chill that engulfed them?!?! The young prince recalled a magical land of warmth and humidity, but it was guarded by a viscious feathered dragon. Brave beyond his years, the prince confronted the foe. As they came face to face, the beast ruffled his feathers in what appeared to be defiance and outrage...but lo, as our hero danced around his opponent it danced back. Surprised with the 'wicked moves', the prince returned with a head bob and double spin which the creature mirrored perfectly and sqwaked with glee. Realizing that the bird mearly desired a friend to save him from his loneliness, the prince returned with his princess and they all danced and played happily ever after.

Hi there and welcome to our blog!!!
Here's a story that I'm gonna start off with:
Georgia here!!! How goes it? I'm in Idaho now. School started again. I'm told that I'm here for the SUMMER semester...but, well, I am ever so slightly confused as to whether I am here for the correct season??? You see, It SNOWED yesterday! I'm not quite certain how I feel about this white wet stuff---it feels funny. There IS one advantage to all of the weird weather though. That's the fact that I have a ridiculously TALENTED boyfriend and he gets inspired when frozen percipitation decides to fall from the sky. Naturally (since I've been in California the past semester and lived in snowless Georgia most of my life) I had an intense urge to play in the lily-colored Snow. Alan also happened to have BuBbLeS!!! Anyway, we gather a bunch of snow and Alan told me he was going to make me something while I went to audition for the Collegiate dance team.

Sooooooo...I went to auditions while Alan stayed at home sitting in front of a huge block of packed snow with his tools and imagination. (I had actually seen the beginnings of his creation but...)

When I got home I found a magnificent Snow Sculpture. It was a fantastic transformation!!! He had made me a horse!!!! We lovingly named him Chariot and took lots of pictures! Alan is wonderful.

SMILES!!! YAY! Besides having a fantastic boyfriend, my classes for school are great! I have a few "study related" classes online, a Book of Mormon class, and SEVEN dance classes. I love it! Alright, I'm gonna sign off for now. 10-4 everyone!!! :-D
